PRINTING TECHNOLOGY

We use digital PIGMENT and SUBLIMATION printing technology for all our IN-HOUSE fabric printing.

Digital Pigment printing technology is often referred to as the “future of digital printing” and is widely recognised as one of the most environmentally-friendly methods of digital textile printing due to the use of the non-toxic water based inks, minimal water usage and the highly significant decrease in energy consumption compared to traditional printing.

The entire printing process using pigment inks is less complicated and more eco-friendly than printing using reactive dyes. The printer we use can be compared to a LARGE inkjet printer. After we send the design to the device the printer applies the pigment inks to the surface of the fabric. Once the process of digital fabric printing is finished, the printed pattern is fixed with temperature, without the use of chemicals and water (as is the case with printing using reactive dyes). Very eco!  As a result, most digitally printed fabrics can be machine washed, despite digital printing with pigment inks being surface printing – the pigment remains stuck on the surface of the textile and thus colours it.

COLOUR REPRODUCTION

As we have chosen the most eco-friendly type of printing it comes with a "trade-off" in colour reproduction capabilities. In pigment printing on fabric with natural fibres the colour yield can be limited and the tones might look a bit dull. This means that bright, black and dark colours will look slightly less deep in comparison with the ones achieved during reactive printing. NOTE: If you previously ordered PYO (Europe) from us or another company the colours on our IN-HOUSE prints will look differently.

We recommend you order sample pack of all currently available bases to make sure the fabric is suitable for your project or order 1m print of your design as a sampling order.

In NO case will what You "SEE ON THE SCREEN" serve as a reference for the colour of the printed fabric. What you see on the screen and what you get on the fabric can vary due to many factors: the fabric we print on, the colour profile of the file, the calibration of each screen...

Due to the unique structure of each fabric, you may have the impression that the colours printed on french terry are more saturated than those on the jersey. Even when printing the same pattern on two different types of fabric you can spot some differences in the shades of colours printed.

The way the colours look on a certain fabric also depends on the production process of the textiles itself. Jersey ordered in July can vary slightly from jersey produced last week. Even the slightest difference can influence the way the colours and shades will look on the fabric so even while reprinting your design on the exact same fabric you can sometimes see some changes.

The "background colour" of our fabrics is white or ecru (depending on the fabric), and if you want to print a background in another colour, you must include it in your file. Likewise, if you have an area of white in your file, this area will remain the "background colour" of the fabric.

* Please note that the fabric can shrink up to 10% during the finishing process. As a result your printed design may be up to 10% smaller.

All our fabric bases are OEKO-TEX certified, which means they are free of harmful substances, including pesticides, chlorophenols, formaldehyde, prohibited azo dyes and extracted heavy metals
.

Although we strive to maintain a high standard of quality in our fabrics, the width, feel, shrinkage and/or the white or ecru background colour may vary from batch to batch.

All fabrics shrink during finishing process and although we take that under consideration when printing, the length of the received fabric may be +- 10% of the ordered length. As we don't manufacture the fabrics, we will not accept complaints about shrinkage or deformation of the images, which, as a rule, should not exceed 10%.

We always try to achieve the best results for our customers, however, due to the way each fabric is woven, and the way the digital print is applied, it may happen that the straight thread is not completely parallel to the vertical axis of the pattern. Should this happen the variation with respect to this axis should not exceed 15 degrees in areas of 20 linear cm. or less.

During the printing of an order it is normal that there can be cuts in the printing due to printer stoppages or defects in the fabric or piece changes. In these cases, we will print 50 centimetres more for each machine stop.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Fabrics printed with eco-friendly pigment inks are most vulnerable to damage/fading when wet. Spot-cleaning or rubbing wet prints is not recommended.

The print can slightly fade if care instructions aren't followed.

We recommend to pre-wash the fabric before you cut it out, so that any fabric shrinkage is taken care of before the garment is made.

Wash the fabric and/or finished garment INSIDE OUT using a programme for DELICATE fabrics in cool or warm water (max. 30 ºC) and with phosphate-free detergents. We discourage the use of bleach and strong stain removers.

Don't use tumble dryer and allow to air dry in an airy room or outside. Never dry clean.

ORDER QUANTITIES

Our minimum order is 1 metre per design.

We can't print samples of your design but we are more than happy to offer you samples of the designs from our collection.

SENDING YOUR DESIGNS

Please send us your designs to pyo.jellyfabrics@gmail.com stating your order number and numbers of metres you require per each design if you are sending more than one.

For big size files you can use weTransfer.

If any design/artwork/graphics/logos/text appears to be offensive or unacceptable we reserve the right to refuse the print.

CANCELLATIONS, RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Orders for Custom printed fabrics CAN NOT be cancelled after they are printed or returned unless faulty.

We will not accept a return because the quality of the printed image is not as expected, unless it is a printing defect (banding, stains, smudging, smudged ink...).

Please get in touch with us within 14 days of receipt of your order at pyo.jellyfabrics@gmail.com if there is an issue with your fabric.

We will thoroughly check the printed fabric for any flaws before dispatch. However there is a low possibility that we might miss slight imperfections including, bot not limited to, a smudge, colour fleck, white fleck, tiny hole or blemish on the fabric or along the selvage. So please inspect your order upon arrival as we cannot process any claims of flawed fabric once the fabric has been processed (washed, cut, soiled or scented).

If these flaws affect less than 5% of the total area of the fabric we won't be offering a refund or discount.
If the fabric has flaws affecting more than 5% of the total area or faulty we will offer you a partial refund or a reprint if the fabric has major flaws.

The selvedges of the fabric may have small rubs, notches, etc., which may result in stains or holes. As long as these are within the selvedges, the printing will not be accepted as defective.

The printed image may not follow a perfectly straight line parallel to the selvage. Due to the stretchy nature of the fabric we print on it is practically impossible to keep the fabric completely straight at all times. There may be variations of 5cm between one margin and another and this isn't considered to be a printing fault.

If you have any other questions please send us an email at jellyfabrics@gmail.com.
